Academics
Joining a sorority in college is a life-changing experience, but garnering an education is the top priority for Kappa. This is why each chapter is expected to maintain academic standards equal to or higher than their university’s or college’s all-sorority GPA. Additionally, each chapter establishes a GPA requirement for active members.
If a Kappa struggles academically, we help her through it. The Academic Excellence Team meets with her to craft an improvement plan using study tactics and time management. We want each sister to leave college with what they came for: a degree.
At Eta Mu, we encourage each member to strive for their greatest academic potential. To help members succeed, we provide resources and information about academic and career services offered by the University. In addition, members of the chapter nominate a "Geek of the Week" each week. This program recognizes different members who go above and beyond in their coursework or achieve an academic award or internship. Eta Mu also awards all members who post in our Academic page an achievement on an exam with a Smart Cookies each week. This semester, we had over 100 smart cookies! At the end of each quarter, members who receive a 4.0 are awarded with a pearl scholarship dangle for their KKG badge.
