Kappa has given me so much over the past couple of years that I wanted to be able to give back. Both the countless opportunities as well as cherished friendships I have found through this organization have not only allowed me to grow as an individual but have also created a strong sense of support throughout my collegiate experience. I sought after this position in hopes to help facilitate this for other incoming Kappas and to continue the strength of our chapter here at Santa Cruz.

- Position Description: As VP of Standards I am in charge of the standards committee. The committee is elected group of sister who help maintain policies of our chapter. We also focus on creating "spirit and moral" of the sisterhood by finding ways to celebrate our sisters.

I wanted this position so that I could be a bigger part of Kappa and help lead my sisters! As VPO, I want to keep everyone updated on events and I hope to encourage involvement in meetings and all things Kappa!

I want to help every girl in our chapter feel seen, accepted, and celebrated. I also want to form better connections with other organizations on campus and the rest of the student body. My ultimate goal is to hold everyone in our chapter accountable for their actions, uplift them, and improve the way UCSC views Greek life.

After seeing the behind-the-scenes of recruitment earlier this year, I hoped that I would be able to have the position this year! I wanted to be a part of the process to plan a recruitment that reflects the values of Kappa, but also inspires a new class of amazing women who embody those attributes.

Becoming Event Chairman was intriguing for me because I’ve always loved using my creativity to show appreciation for others or to help anyone out. I wanted to be marshal after going through initiation and seeing how special the whole process was. I’m looking forward to helping run initiation and sharing more about the rituals and what makes Kappa, Kappa!!
